Robert McKinney was the chairman and CEO of two public companies: First Indiana Corporation and The Somerset Group, Inc. as well as a founding partner of Bose McKinney & Evans LLP. He served in a leadership role in the presidential campaigns of John F. Kennedy, Edmund Muskie, Jimmy Carter, and Walter Mondale. McKinney is now retired, but remains active as a philanthropist and civic leader in Indianapolis. Michael A. McRobbie became the 18th president of Indiana University in 2007 and under his leadership, IU has seen a major expansion in the size and quality of its student body, a large-scale academic restructuring with the establishment of six new schools, a re-invigoration of the global partnerships that support the university’s international academic and educational programs, an extensive $1.5 billion program of building and renovation with the construction of over 50 major new buildings and facilities, and the completion of endowment campaigns at the Bloomington and Indianapolis campuses, each of which raised over $1 billion. We are proud to honor two outstanding individuals who serve the Indiana community.
The Anti-Defamation League’s Man of Achievement Award was established to recognize individuals and companies who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to community, justice and equal opportunity for all.
